Last year's X Factor winner Matt Terry has only just gotten around to releasing his debut album, with its lead single dropping in October, but this year's winners Rak-Su are hoping to buck the trend of the annual X Factor winner autumn new music release and get music into the world as soon as possible.

Speaking on Graham Norton's BBC Radio 2 show today (December 9), Watford group Rak-Su (aka Ashley, Jamaal, Myles and Mustafa) revealed that singing original songs through the competition has given them a lot of material to work with, so they're hoping to capitalise on that.

Which is a leg up over most X Factor winners, to be fair.

"What we are going to do is the songs that we've done on the show previously, we're going to try and get some studio version of that done," the boys explained.

"Maybe plus another couple of songs and then put those together into a project to release early next year.

"And then we're going to start work on the album as well. But I think we've got an opportunity at the moment and some momentum behind us, and we just want to use it."

Well, just so long as they don't wait as long as 2015 winner Louisa Johnson to release an album, we'll be happy.

And maybe throw in that rumoured Little Mix collaboration too, that'd be amazing.
