X Factor double elimination sees fans hit out at Robbie

Tonight's episode of The X Factor saw two more contestants booted from the competition, but in a turn of a events that could almost be described as conventional for a talent show programme, viewers were not happy with the judge's decision.

With the least amount of public votes, Olatunji was the first to go tonight. Meanwhile, Janice and Armstrong were left to battle it out in a sing-off to the death. And by death we mean something much worse – elimination from the show.

After two fairly dry performances from both, the judges eventually decided that Janice was the least awful of the two of them and sent Armstrong home.

But some viewers didn't agree with this verdict, and many lamented the fact that Robbie Williams just agrees with whatever his wife Ayda Field says.

One terrible cross viewer took the time to tweet: "I do not agree with a married couple as xfactor judges this year, they are always going to back each other."

While another wrote: "What a joke #XFACTOR is ? Having Robbie and his wife on ! ...ofcourse Robbie was never going to send home his wife's act home and Simon have a word with yourself."

Some viewers also accused Simon Cowell, who had the deciding vote, of eliminating Armstrong just to spite fellow judge Louis Tomlinson.

The X Factor airs at 8pm on ITV.
