In its ongoing attempt to shake-up its prime time listings, ITV has announced that popular game show Catchphrase will now air on Sunday nights instead of The X Factor's live results show.

The X Factor will now be confined to Saturday nights, with an extended show that will run for just under two hours. It's expected to run similarly to how the show operated for its first four years, before the results show was introduced back in 2008.

It's not yet clear whether this will be applied to further X Factor series, such as the all-stars version, as ITV has told Digital Spy: "The X Factor: Celebrity is a new show and a new format and as such will be scheduled differently to previous years."

The results show typically featured live performances from big-name artists and a sing-off between the acts with the fewest public votes.

The changes will come into effect this weekend, when The X Factor: Celebrity's first live show airs at 8.20pm. It then won't return until the following Saturday evening.

Contestants aiming to impress judges Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell on the night include Ex on the Beach star Megan McKenna, Glee's Kevin McHale and journalist Martin Bashir.

Love Island's Wes Nelson, Zara McDermott, Samira Mighty and Eyal Booker, Coronation Street actor Victoria Ekanoye, talk show host Ricki Lake and Love Actually star Olivia Olson will take part too.

The Chase's Jenny Ryan will be competing after bosses gave her a second chance following her axing last week. Vinnie Jones – who missed the auditions process due to the tragic death of his wife – will also be making an appearance.

Meanwhile on Sunday, Catchphrase host Stephen Mulhern will welcome journalist Dan Walker, boxer Tony Bellew and TV personality Kelly Osbourne to "say what they see" in order to win money for their chosen charities.

The X Factor: Celebrity continues on Saturday (October 26) at 8.20pm on ITV.
