X Factor shock elimination sees Simon bend rules
The X Factor viewers were left furious tonight (November 18) after a shock elimination.
The public vote left Shan and the duo of Acacia and Aaliyah in the bottom two, with the acts having to go head-to-head in a sing-off.
After their performances, it was down to Ayda Field to cast the deciding vote, but the newbie judge instead sent it to deadlock, leaving their fates to be determined by the public.
So tonight's sing off is between @ShanOfficially and @acaciaxaaliyah_ 🙈🎤 #singoff #XFactor pic.twitter.com/uWoz4xCQio

Much to the shock of the studio audience and Simon Cowell, it was Shan who received the least amount of votes from the public and was sent crashing out of the tournament.
With many believing that Shan was one of the better talents in the show, let alone deserving to be in the bottom two, viewers expressed their anger on Twitter.
Ayda should be ashamed of herself, no contest, those girls aren’t a single bit as good as Shan. Shame on you! #Xfactor

I've not been this pissed off since they booted Ruth Lorenzo #XFactor

Well I don’t think Ayda will be returning next year, no way should she have sent that to deadlock, too busy protecting Robbie’s act😴 Dalton has to win now that Shan’s gone #XFactor

I understand Nile had to vote for the girls because he's their mentor but Shan is obviously a SUPER STAR. Ayda just fucked up #XFactor pic.twitter.com/W756oAmyiP

Huge talent out above a run of poor acts that are going nowhere. We’ve seen it before - but Shan I think is above others who have been sent packing this early before. Astoundingly poor decision. #xfactor

One viewer tweeted: "Huge talent out above a run of poor acts that are going nowhere. We've seen it before - but Shan I think is above others who have been sent packing this early before. Astoundingly poor decision."
"While another wrote: "Actually Fuming! Can't believe @ShanOfficially has left #XFactor Ayda has clearly chose them because they are Robbies, they are not a patch on Shan! Absolute joke."
However, this won't be the last audiences see of Shan, because a stunned Cowell decided to bend the rules and allow her to join the rest of the contestants when they go on tour.
The X Factor airs on ITV at 8pm.
