Former X Factor rapper star Honey G has said she lost her job at a North London estate agents because they ‘didn’t realise how famous I am’.

37-year-old Honey, real name Anna Gilford, was sacked from her job at Chancellors Estate Agents after only 40 days.

She told The Sun that she was ‘shocked’ at the decision.

“My boss had told me that he was expecting me to give up my music career which I am obviously not prepared to do,” she said.

“Music is my love and passion, and my ambitions are about being a worldwide music artist.

“I had no intention of being an estate agent long term. I was hoping that a big opportunity for my music career would come in. I do believe I belong on stage”

The former recruitment consultant was a contestant on the 13th series of Simon Cowell’s TV talent show in 2016.

As part of Sharon Osbourne’s over 25s group, she defied the odds and was eliminated after eight weeks on the show, ending up in fifth place.

She released a single, The Honey G Show, via Cowell’s Syco Music label, but was later dropped when it reached 149 in the charts.
