The Grand Party Hotel aired its first episode on BBC One tonight, but despite all the drama of unfinished rooms and a leaky air conditioning unit threatening to ruin one of the hotel's big wedding receptions, it was the surprising appearance of a former X Factor performer that caught most viewers' attention.
The new BBC docu-series offers audiences a look behind the doors of the Shankly Hotel in Liverpool, which has themed party suites so guests can celebrate important moments in their lives.
One of those important moments in tonight's (September 24) first episode was Trudie and Danielle's wedding ceremony and reception, which they'd been planning alongside the hotel's wedding co-ordinator Ciara.
But while Ciara helped pull the wedding off without a hitch in the end, the brides also had a surprise in store for their guests as Ciara told the cameras that they'd booked a surprise celebrity guest to perform during the reception.
And it was soon revealed that the surprise guest was none other than X Factor 2010 act Wagner, who turned up to the hotel, drank a jagerbomb with Ciara and went on to surprise the guests at Trudie and Danielle's wedding with a performance of Ricky Martin's 'Livin' la Vida Loca'.
"I'm so excited," Ciara admitted. "I'm trying not to fan-crush, it's the weirdest, weirdest fan crush ever – I think I'm more excited than the brides!"
And viewers were tickled by Wagner's appearance on the show too, with one person writing: "I have to stay in the #GrandPartyHotel. Any lesbian wedding that gets Wagner to sing La Vida Loca is just the start of something beautiful."

Elsewhere, the first episode documented the experiences of the hotel's new general manager Lyndon, who was brought in to try and boost the hotel's online rating.
But after a few weeks on the job and some clashes with staff, the series confirmed at the end of the episode that Lyndon had decided to leave the role and pursue other opportunities.
The Grand Party Hotel continues next Thursday (October 1) at 8pm on BBC One.
