X Factor’s James Arthur Hospitalised After Being Glassed On A Night Out

X Factor 2012 winner James Arthur was hospitalised on Saturday night after being glassed in a violent pub attack.

The singer was enjoying an evening in Redcar over the weekend and witnesses are unsure about what started the bust-up.

Police confirmed that an assault victim had been taken to hospital or treatment, with James later alluding to the attack on Twitter by sarcastically writing: “Good night in Redcar tonight” alongside the shocked and beer emojis.

James later responded to a concerned fan, reassuring his followers that he was okay following the altercation.

The 28 year old wrote: “I’m fine thank you. No worries, we move on.”

A spokesman for James added that they have “nothing further” to say as the incident is “now a police matter.”

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman confirmed: “We received a report of an assault at the Plimsoll Line on Redcar High Street at around 10.40pm on Saturday August 20.

"A 28-year-old man received a head wound after he was reported to have been hit with a bottle. The man was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.

"Inquiries are ongoing in relation to the incident.”

We hope that James has since made a full recovery.
