Matt Terry might have won The X Factor just three months ago, but his clean-cut crown already appears to be slipping after he reportedly caused a stir in a family pub following an expletive-filled rant. Eeek.
Matt, who was mentored by Nicole Scherzinger on last year’s ITV talent show, apparently shouted the c-word in front of young children during an intoxicated slur at a pub in Wakefield, West Yorks.
One person who was at the venue during the alleged incident wrote on Twitter: “@MattTerry93 I hope you apologise for swearing in front of children the other day at the pub, how rude!”
Continuing to criticise the 23-year-old star’s behaviour, the furious fan then added: “And it doesn’t suit you so stop it.”
Meanwhile, a source told The Sun: “The pub incident was truly shocking. After one practice he got drunk at a bar in Wakefield and then started swearing his mouth off in front of children, shouting the word c***. The parents who heard him were furious. He’s not showering himself in glory on the tour.”
On top of all of this, the laid-back Bromley lad has also been accused of some rather unsavoury behaviour backstage on The X Factor live tour as reports suggest the singer repeatedly turned up late and hungover to rehearsals.
A friend of Matt’s defended him, saying: “Matt’s 23 and just having a good time on tour. He regrets getting drunk and swearing in a family environment, but he’s 100 per cent dedicated in his performances.”
Taking to Twitter today, Matt extended his gratitude to his crew of supportive and loyal followers, simply writing: “I love my fans,” alongside a string of praise-hands emojis.
Matt’s time on tour is due to come to an end next week, at which point he will be hitting the recording studio to start work on his winner’s album.
We wish him the best of *bleeping* luck!
