Ahead of the start of production in early 2018 (we think/hope), 20th Century Fox's Gambit movie has changed its working title.

Originally going by the name 'Chess', Omega Underground reports that the X-Men spin-off is now going to be known as 'Forevermore', due to the previous name being too well known.

We personally like to think the name is a tongue-in-cheek reference to how long the film's been in development hell for, which feels like it's already been forever (and more).

Around the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, there were talks about giving Taylor Kitsch a solo movie as the Cajun mutant, but it never took off.

Channing Tatum was then originally cast to play the lead role in 2015, but even his star power couldn't stop the release date being pushed back (several times). To make things worse, two directors bailed from the project in the form of Doug Liman and Rupert Wyatt.

The release of last year's critically and commercially successful Deadpool also caused a huge rewrite of the script. The release is currently slated for February 2019.

The X-Men movie universe currently has three projects due for release in the near future: there's the highly-anticipated Deadpool 2, the surprisingly horror themed The New Mutants and the continuation of the main franchise with X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
