A fan favourite has been cast for Bryan Singer's X-Men TV series, and she's being played by none other than former DC actress Jamie Chung.

The Gotham star - who played Valerie Vale on Batman prequel series - will take on the role of Blink in the new Fox series, which follows two parents who discover that their children are mutants.

The family go on the run, and find the underground network of super humans who must protect them.

Blink is a teleporting mutant, also known as Clarice, and is something of a sarcastic tomboy.

According to Marvel, Blink's "naturally strong exuberance has taken a hit after a sudden and traumatic upheaval of her life", adding: "As she adjusts to the new people and places that are suddenly 'home,' Clarice is slowly becoming herself again."

Blink has appeared on our screens in the X-Men universe before, most recently in X-Men: Days of Future Past. In the film, directed by Singer, Fan Bingbing played the character.

The still untitled TV series has also cast Blair Redford in a "key role", as the Native American leader of the group.

Other than a few details starting to trickle through, the particulars of the TV series are being kept very much under wraps - but writer Matt Nix has promised that there will be some more characters that fans will recognise.
