Sales of XXXTentacion’s music have jumped up the charts in the wake of his death, aged 20, earlier this week.

The 20-year-old rapper was involved in a fatal shooting in Florida on Monday.

Following his death, it has been reported that XXXTentacion’s, real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, music has jumped up the digital charts, as is common when a musician dies.

As reported by TMZ on Tuesday, the rapper’s most recent album – titled ? – saw a 41,306% spike as it soared to the top of the digital chart. Debut LP 17 rocketed 9,000%.

His work also dominated the CD and vinyl category of Amazon’s Movers and Shakers yesterday as it held chart slots 2 and 3.

Spotify also paid tribute with his full catalogue of music and an RIP banner, while iTunes had tracks SAD! And Changes in the charts at 1 and 5 respectively, according to the publication.

The chart-topping rapper was shot dead on Monday while apparently shopping for a motorcycle, in Deerfield, Florida .

Police in Broward County said XXXTentacion was rushed to hospital and later pronounced dead.

The young artist was often described as one of rap's most controversial stars and was facing domestic violence charges.

In a statement released on Twitter, the Broward Sheriff's Office said: "The adult male that was taken to the hospital has been pronounced dead.

"The adult male victim has been confirmed as 20-year-old Jahseh Onfroy aka rapper XXXTentacion."
