'Yes, That's a Boat on the Roadway': Hurricane Zeta Makes Landfall in Louisiana

Hurricane Zeta made landfall as a Category 2 storm along the southeastern coast of Louisiana on Wednesday, October 28. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported? life-threatening surges and strong winds, with gusts reaching up to 112 mph.

According to reports#, the eye wall moved across the New Orleans area and was heading toward the northshore of Louisiana. The storm had 105 mph winds and was traveling at 25 mph, the report said.

Power outages were reported across the region, along with damage caused by the strong winds and heavy rain.

This footage posted by Brennan Matherne, the public information officer for Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, shows water running over the LA-1 highway in Golden Meadow, Louisiana.
