Yob hurls brick through North Staffordshire church window

Police are hunting a vandal who hurled a brick through a church window. The offender targeted Wetley Rocks Methodist Church - with residents now being urged to check their CCTV.

Neighbourhood officers say the incident took place between 9.30pm on Friday and 11.30am the following day (July 6). Local PCSO Jonathan Staples, of Moorlands Local Policing Team, said: "We are appealing for any information that could help us identify an offender who has thrown a brick through the Methodist Church window which is situated on Main Road."

It represents another attack on a Moorlands church. StokeonTrentLive reported how thieves smashed and stole a number of lead drainpipes from Leek's historic St Edward's Church last month.

Witnesses to the incident in Wetley Rocks should call 101 and quote 392 of July 6.
