A New York blogger has revealed her "secret summer romance" with a "cheeky Essex popstar" thought to be Olly Murs, describing it as "amazing".
Britanny Allyn, who writes and produces the blog and podcast Thirty Waves, shared details of her relationship with the musician in question in a post called How to Lose a Pop Star in 10 Weeks.
Without ever naming the Troublemaker, the 32-year-old includes detail of the “cheeky pop star from the Essex countryside” and videos that he had taken of him performing.
Allyn, 32, reveals she was reportedly introduced to Murs by a mutual friend who took her to meet him at his concert at the O2 in April, admitting she had no idea who he was.
Revealing in her Thirty Waves podcast, she said: “I happened to be in London for work and was available for the weekend.
“I had zero clue who he was and his Google images were a bit frightening - this guy had an extreme European love affair with volumizing mousse and acid wash skinny jeans. But, what do I have to lose?!”
Allyn admitted to the former X Factor contestant that the show was the first time she had heard any of his songs, with the exception of his cover of Tina Turner’s What’s Love Got To Do With It, which she confessed to singing in the shower.
Murs reportedly messaged the blogger on Instagram but the conversation soon escalated to WhatsApp chats with video calls and daily conversations.
She said: “Ironically, we didn't talk a lot about his music. We exchanged videos of our houses, our messy hair in the mornings, our summer activities of being at the beach or out and about.
“I genuinely enjoyed talking to him like a friend. PG related, pinky-promise.”
