New York Police Search For Man Wanted For Setting Fire to US Flag

Police in Manhattan, New York, are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who set fire to a US flag at a storefront on Friday, September 13.

According to the NYPD, the incident happened on Friday, September 13, at approximately 9:40 pm, outside Greenwich Locksmiths on 7th Avenue.

CCTV footage released by the NYPD shows a man approaching the front of the store on a white bicycle and attempting to set the flag alight.

He was last seen wearing a maroon shirt, black pants, white sneakers and glasses.

Speaking to local media, the shop owner, Philip Mortillaro, said the man failed to light the flag on his first try. He left the premises before he returned and successfully lit the flag.
