New Yorkers Hit the Slopes in Brooklyn's Prospect Park After Nor'easter

New Yorkers took their gear out to a snow-covered Prospect Park in Brooklyn on December 17, after a night of heavy snowfall in the tri-state region.

The National Weather Service (NWS) said 6.5 inches of snow and sleet were recorded by midnight in Central Park, more than the 4.8-inch total for all of the 2019-2020 winter season.

Local news reports said there would be no snow day for schoolchildren as New York City announced that school buildings would close, but students were expected to attend virtual classes on Thursday.
