Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen addresses kids quitting as 'they go they're own way'
Amanda Owen, the star of Our Farm Next Door, has opened up about her nine children quitting the farming lifestyle as they approach adulthood.
The More4 series showcases Amanda and her ex-husband Clive, who come together to create a lasting legacy for their nine children by renovating a dilapidated farmhouse just a short distance from Ravenseat Farm.
Previously, the family's daily adventures were broadcast on Channel 5's Our Yorkshire Farm, which concluded in 2022 following Amanda and Clive's separation after 22 years of marriage.
Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, which ended earlier this week, viewers followed the family's efforts to restore the nearby Anty John's farmhouse into a forever home.
The renovation journey has been fraught with challenges, including typical farming hurdles, construction setbacks, and health concerns surrounding Clive.
With the restoration of Anty John's nearing its end, Amanda recently brought her family together for a memorable photograph in the latest episode of the More4 show.

"I wanted to get all the family together, to get a photograph standing on the hillside with Anty John's there in the background," the mum of nine shared.
"Six girls, three boys. All looking roughly tidy and ready for a photoshoot. And we've even got a little bit of decent weather. It's great to have the whole gang back."
The image holds special significance for the Yorkshire Shepherdess, as some of her older children are about to leave home.
Amanda opened up about the mixed emotions, saying: "We'll see the kids growing up and going their own way and we'll also see the house evolving as well.
"Suddenly, (they) want to head towards civilisation. They want to go to places where the phone works and where you can order a Deliveroo. Y'know, living the high life."
Despite this, the farmer is confident that her children will eventually yearn for the countryside once the city's novelty "wears a bit thin".
With a smile, she shared: "You realise that it's actually quite fun riding horses, slobbing about in wellies and they all come back again. You can have the best of both worlds. And I think that's great!"
Raven, Owen's eldest daughter, admitted that "wrangling" the entire family together has become "quite a difficult thing" due to the siblings' age gap.
Elsewhere in the series finale, Clive confessed that he was ready to step back from his farming duties and let his sons take over.
As he let Miles mow the grass for the first time, Clive stated: "They're grown-up these lads, and it's good for them to take over these jobs. Miles is a young man now so, the mowing is for him.
"The kids grow up and become men. I am getting older, and I am not as strong as I used to be so yeah, it is good that these young guys take over."
He added: "It's time to pass on the baton and let them do more and more and that is how it is. I am here to watch over them and annoy them and we will get there in the end."
