Towns and cities across Yorkshire could be without power this weekend as homeowners have been urged to prepare for power cuts following more snow forecast.
The Met Office has issued a stark yellow weather warning to people in Yorkshire as we head into the weekend. A 29-hour snow and rain warning was issued this morning.
The warning encompasses Skipton, Huddersfield, Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, Wakefield, Doncaster, Selby, as well as the York area, which is due to bit hit hardest. The warning will come into force from 4am on Saturday morning (Nov 23) and finish at 9am on Sunday (Nov 24) morning.

The Met Office says: "Heavy snow on Saturday, followed by a rapid thaw and subsequent rain on Saturday night, may cause some disruption.
"Whilst snow will become increasingly confined to higher elevations with time, there is the chance of a transient period of snow to low levels in some areas, with perhaps as much as 5-10 cm accumulating in places, especially the Vale of York, before turning back to rain."
Residents preparing for potential power cuts have been advised to purchase torches, candles, and batteries, and to charge their phones and portable power banks.
The Met Office advises: "People cope better when they have prepared in advance for the risk of power cuts or being cut off from services and amenities due to the snow. It's easy to do; consider gathering torches and batteries, a mobile phone power pack and other essential items."
Additionally, residents have been advised to insulate pipes to prevent freezing, seal any draughts within the house, and open curtains during the day to let in sunlight, closing them again at night.
