The Yorkshire Vet star 'heartbroken' after beloved sheep falls unwell

Things took a dramatic turn during the latest episode of The Yorkshire Vet as a sheep became unwell.

During Tuesday night's show (November 12), the Yorkshire-based veterinarians were back to rescue a range of farm animals and furry pets. But for one pet owner, a tingly cough was leaving her devastated.

Grace, who owned a flock of sheep, explained she was "heartbroken" when she realised that one of them had developed a terrible soar throat. Grace's sheep Lancelot was in desperate need of medical attention when his owner noticed that he was moving his head at a substantial rate to cough.

But despite her worries, vet Julian was on the case to treat Lancelot. After providing the sheep with medication, Julian promised that things would improve soon.

He said: "That will take away an infection that's there; it concentrates in the lung tissue, and it persists in the lung tissue for quite a while. So it's perfect for this kind of thing.

"I think from here, just see how he gets on. Keep him fairly steady, and try not to let him do too much running around."

Grace later said: "I feel really sad. It sounds not so terrible I know but I love them all. So just to think of him with some stodgy lungs going on, that's really sad."

Thankfully, Julian's advice paid off. Later in the programme, Grace updated viewers on her beloved sheep's progress.

Appearing a lot happier, she revealed that Lancelot had done a complete 180 since the last time. His cough had also disappeared, which has led Grace to continue with her other pursuits.

Elsewhere on the Channel 5 show, vet Pet faced a challenge of his own when he was faced with the birth of a baby calf. Trying to ensure that the calf and its mother, Daisy, survived, Peter had to take drastic measures.

At one point, Peter had his entire arm inside Daisy as he reached in to grab her new baby. Thankfully, the birth turned out well, with the calf and Daisy in top form.

The Yorkshire Vet airs Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 5.
