You can't buy taste: Ferrari owner covers £200,000 supercar in garish gold vinyl

Convertibles always make a scene, with Ferraris at the top of the pile, but even that wasn't enought of a statement for one owner.

His Ferrari 458 Spider convertible, worth around £200,000, is no shrinking violet, thanks largely to its amazing performance and deafening sound.

But the loudest thing about this model isn't the roaring engine, it is the colour - after its owner had it covered in GOLD.

Riyadh Al-Azzawi, a kickboxing world champion from Iraq, is the owner of the garish Ferrari, and spent around £4,000 wrapping the model in bright gold vinyl.

Onlookers passing the Italian motor, which was parked on a street in Kensington, London, couldn't help but stop and take in the unique sight.

Tim Burton, who runs the YouTube car channel Shmee150, said: "I've seen some pretty exciting cars roaming the streets of London, but a golden Ferrari is about as bold as you can get.

"If you want to cause a scene, this is the way to do it."

The Ferrari 458 Spider is the convertible version of the popular supercar, which is widely regarded as one of the greatest cars built by the firm.

It is powered by a 4.5-litre V8 engine which develops a whopping 562bhp, giving the car a 0-62mph time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 199mph.

And if that isn't enough, you could always add some go-faster stripes.
