Sven-Goran Eriksson was given a heartfelt farewell as 'You'll Never Walk Alone' played out for the former England manager at his Swedish funeral.

The Torsby service saw an emotional turnout with hundreds coming together to remember Eriksson, who sadly passed away at 76 after his cancer battle. David Beckham and Roy Hodgson were among the crowd paying tribute.

Eriksson had bravely shared his diagnosis earlier this year but realised a cherished ambition when he managed the Reds in a Legends fixture last March. A devout Liverpool fan, his eulogy touched on his unforgettable Anfield experience earlier in the year.

After the match, an obviously moved Eriksson reflected, "To sit on the bench for Liverpool, that's been my dream my whole life. Now it happened, and it was a beautiful day in all meanings," underscoring the delight of the day and expressing gratitude towards Liverpool for the momentous invitation.

"The crowd, the game, the players, everything, fantastic, and thank you to Liverpool for giving me this opportunity, to invite me for such an important game - it's not points, but the importance of the game is incredible.", reports Liverpool.com.

He went on to describe his longstanding bond with the club, stating, "It was full of emotions, tears coming. It's been my dream club all my life - even when I had England, I also supported Liverpool, but I couldn't say it at that time. It's a good finish, to finish with Liverpool, it can't be much better than that."

The late Sven-Goran Eriksson's love for Liverpool was evident at his funeral, with a brass band playing the club's anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone' as mourners gathered at Fryksande church. The former England manager's coffin was given a guard of honour before being taken to Kollsbergs hembygdsgard.

Eriksson is best known in England for his tenure as the first non-British manager of the national team, leading them to three quarter-final finishes in major tournaments during his five-year reign. He also had successful spells at Lazio, Manchester City, Leicester and Roma, winning 18 trophies throughout his career.
