Young Bear Cub Shot Dead After Going On Rampage Through School

A young bear caused chaos and was shot dead after it got trapped inside a Chinese school while foraging for food.

The furry critter broke into Raohe Third Middle School, in Raohe county, at around 5 a.m. one morning earlier this month.

It was caught on camera roaming the corridors.

Police arrived on the scene and were proposing to sedate the state protected Asian black bear.

But they soon decided to change their plan after the adolescent became increasingly aggressive.

While trying to find a way out of the building, the young bear broke several windows and doors.

It also began “roaring” at school staff and policemen as they slowly cornered it in a stairwell.

Marksmen opened fire and killed the cub, just before students and staff were set to enter for the day of classes.

Reports said no people were hurt during the incident.

It’s not the first time that a wild bear has roamed into dangerous situations in Raohe county, which shares part of its border with Russia.

A black bear was recently reported swimming across the border river in August and shocked the residents of a village when it found its way into a local’s house.

On that occasion the animal was sedated and released back into the wild by forestry authorities.

Reports of Siberian tigers and numerous other black bears have also been sighted crossing into the country over the Russian border.

One infamous tiger reportedly crossed into China after being released by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
