Young BMW driver dies after car collides with tree
A young man has died after a crash in North Somerset last week. The fatal collision took place in the early hours of Wednesday, November 6, at about 2am, on the A370 near Flax Bourton, involving a black BMW 5 series which collided with a tree after failing to stop for police.
Both the driver and passenger were taken to hospital after the collision. Avon and Somerset Police has since said the driver, a man in his 20s, died in the early hours of the morning on Friday, November 15.
The man's next of kin are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer and have asked for their privacy to be respected.

Avon and Somerset Police referred the crash to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) at the time, which told BristolLive it was seeking more details from the force before deciding whether to launch an investigation.
Officers are asking anyone with dashcam or other footage or information which may aid the investigation to get in touch.
