Young boy taken to hospital after being hit by car

A child was injured after being hit by a car in Bolton. It happened on Lee Lane in Horwich at around 3.15pm this afternoon (Friday). The young boy was struck close to the Hottons pharmacy.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene with the road blocked whilst they dealt with the incident. The boy was taken to hospital.

However Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said his injuries were not life-threatening. A force spokesperson said: “We were called at around 3.15pm to reports of a collision between a car and a young male child.

“The child was taken to hospital, but the injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing. No arrests have been made. The road was blocked until about 4pm.”
