Young man rushed to hospital after serious assault on Lanarkshire street

A young man was rushed to hospital after being seriously assaulted on a Blantyre street.

The 20-year-old man was attacked at around 3am on Saturday (June 8) on Logan Street in the Lanarkshire town.

He was later taken to hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries is not currently known.

Police Scotland has now appealed for anyone with information about the incident or who witnessed the assault to come forward to help with their enquiries.

Detective Constable Sharon McBride said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have information to contact us.

“We are also asking people to check private CCTV and dash-cams for footage that could assist with our investigation.”
