Young Midlothian motorcyclist, 23, rushed to hospital after crash on quiet street

A young Midlothian motorcyclist was rushed to hospital on Tuesday night after a crash.

Police and paramedics were called to Auld Coal Drive, Bonnyrigg, shortly before 6.40pm.

A local resident reported seeing a police cordon near a lamppost. The extent of the rider's injuries is not currently known.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 18:34 to attend an incident near Auld Coal Drive, Bonnyrigg. We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and one patient was transported to Royal Infirmary Edinburgh.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.50pm on Tuesday, 24 September, 2024, we received a report of a crash involving a motorcycle on Auld Coal Drive, Bonnyrigg,

“Emergency services attended and the 23-year-old male rider was taken to hospital for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 3083 of 24 September, 2024.”
