Young Plymouth woman launches magic princess parties
A Plymouth teen who just finished her A-levels is bringing magic to the city with her new princess party business. Ellie Cornish, who is only 18, has started up Ellie's Princess Parties Plymouth, a children's entertainment company.
Ellie, who loves to dress up, sing and dance, has focused her talents into setting up the new business and her magical parties are already gaining popularity. She says her 'attention to detail' has been praised by her customers.
Ellie said: “This means so much to me, you never know when a kid needs a hug or some magic to light up their day. When I was a little girl, I loved dressing up and I’d wait hours in line at Disneyland in Paris to see princesses. This is the magic I want to bring into children's lives here in Plymouth.”

The party and entertainment service is run by Ellie, but silent partner Katy Way is mentoring the 18-year-old. Katy, aged 53, has over 18 years of party business experience.
She said: “Ellie is so passionate about starting her new business and over the past six months we have been putting things together to launch in October. I've been getting people excited by putting countdowns on my Facebook page but not revealing what is coming. Ellie used to work for me.”
Katy is a care home entertainer via her business Music Makers Plymouth, but she used to run children’s entertainment parties. Setting up a business at 18-years-old takes courage, Katy said. "I'd love to see people support Ellie’s business and wish her every success," she added.
Both Ellie and Katy love performing and making people smile with their party packages. The two women - and their two businesses - are described as “amazing” and “absolutely fantastic” by happy customers.
