Young Welsh star from one of this year's best dramas nominated for huge award
There is so much acting talent in Wales from Hollywood stars Luke Evans and Catherine Zeta-Jones to Michael Sheen to Iwan Rheon and now a new Welsh talent is making a name for himself. A young Welsh actor, who starred in a successful BBC drama, has been nominated for a big award.
Leo Harris, who is just 11 years old and from Swansea, has been nominated for favourite young actor of the year in the TV Times awards. He played Jake in the hit BBC drama Lost Boys and Fairies which was filmed in Cardiff and written by Welsh writer Daf James.
In his first main acting role Leo is up against some huge names in the awards including Lenny Rush for his role in Doctor Who and Lillia Turner for her role in EastEnders. Leo's parents, Kelly and Lee Harris, are delighted for him.

They said: "[Lost Boys and Fairies] was greatly received locally... it is great, we couldn't be more happy for him... we are super-proud of him and especially because it is something he enjoys doing as well... he just wants to do it all the time... he would do it every day of the week if he could."
Kelly and Lee added: "It would be amazing if he won it but the talent pool he is in with we were just so happy that he got nominated and Leo is as well." Speaking about what it was like to see Leo on the set of a major Welsh drama, they said: "It was quite surreal because it was all new to us. Everything was interesting for us and Leo. They couldn't have been more welcoming... it was like your extended family straightaway... all the cast were amazing with him."
