YouTube couple visit Skegness to see if it is 'really that bad'

A YouTube couple with more than 84,000 subscribers filmed their trip to an iconic Lincolnshire seaside town. The travelling pair, named Jay and Karolina, wanted to pay a visit to Skegness to see if the town was really as bad as some people make out - and they left pleasantly surprised.

Jay starts the video highlighting Skegness' "negative reputation". However he adds: "We're going in with an open mind into Skegness and we're going to see for ourselves if it's really that bad."

They started off their trip with a visit to some arcades followed by a stroll around Tower Gardens, which Jay noted was great if you wanted to "get away from the hustle and bustle". Afterwards, they went to buy some rock, as Karolina had never tried it before, and were surprised by the friendliness of the shop staff and local residents.

After a quick peek inside Hildreds shopping centre, they stopped for some lunch at Seaview Fisheries which left them very impressed. The couple then went to Skegness Pleasure Beach and for a boat ride on the lake before wrapping up the video on Skegness Beach. They said: "Skegness definitely deserves to have a better reputation."

One viewer commented: "I've been going to Skegness since the early 1980s and when I read people claim it's the worst seaside resort town it makes me mad. It has never once deserved that odious accolade...it's absolutely wonderful."

Another wrote: "This was great. We need more people like you to prove how nice Skeggy really is." The video now has more than 20,000 views.
