YouTube star Alfie Deyes trolled hard after assuring fans he's not a Tory
Alfie Deyes really, really wants you to know he is not a Tory.
The YouTube vlogger, 24, addressed rumours about his political stance as he apologised for an “insensitive” video challenge which saw him attempting to live off of £1 a day.
The 36 minute post saw him reeling on realising that he couldn’t buy his morning coffee and being forced to drink tap water at the gym.
Deyes followed up the since deleted post with an eight minute video apology in which he took aim at those accusing him of being a Tory – and clarified that he isn’t a snob about drinking water from a tap.
“Something I saw floating around on Twitter yesterday was the amount of people calling me a Tory,” he said. “And I just want to 100 per cent clear up right now, that I am not a Tory. It sounds stupid for me saying this.
“I feel that I need to say in this video that is for sure not the case.”
Predictably his comments fell victim to a mocking online with one Twitter user posting: “If you say ‘I’m not a tory’ three times into a mirror Alfie Deyes will appear.”
Another wrote: “Alfie Deyes getting triggered by people calling him a Tory is way funnier than it should be.”
A third tweeted: “Alfie Deyes used drinking tap water to back up the fact he’s not a tory,,,, on my life,,, I’ve never seen such privileged stupidity f***.”

Deyes assured fans that he is donating all of his earnings from the £1-a-day challenge video to charity and that he has not profited from his apology post.
