There's nothing quite like a bit of cheese. Whether it's paired with crackers, tucked into a sandwich or oozing from a fondue pot - the savoury delight is irresistible.

But slicing cheese can be a tricky affair, as some types tend to stick and crumble when you try to cut them. However, this could now be a thing of the past, thanks to a clever slicing hack.

A kitchen guru, who goes by lalifehacks on TikTok, has shown off the technique that takes mere seconds and works wonders. The only tool required is a piece of parchment paper.

In her video, she covers the section of cheese she wants to cut with the paper and then proceeds to slice. This nifty trick ensures perfect cuts without any cheese clinging to the knife.

The clip has racked up hundreds of likes, with viewers praising the method as "great". They're also impressed by how easy it is to master. One viewer exclaimed: "Wow - I'm trying it." Another enthused: "This is literally genius." A third chimed in: "Like this - it's awesome." And a fourth also shared: "Great hack."

It's worth mentioning that there are numerous techniques for cutting cheese correctly, and the optimal approach usually depends on the type of cheese at hand.

For instance, when dealing with block cheese, it's smart to place the cheese on its largest surface before slicing it into small rectangles. From this point, you can halve the slices to create club cracker-sized pieces, or even quarter them if you prefer square slices.

On the other hand, if you're a fan of blue cheese, you'll need a thin, narrow-bladed knife to slice through it without damaging the veins. For quartered blue cheeses, like roquefort, simply lay the cheese flat and then cut into a fan shape.
