Here's the list in full, according to the experts.
Breakfast foods you should store in the fridge
Eggs
According to the Food Standards Agency, refrigerating eggs helps to protect them from salmonella and ensures they retain their best taste and quality.
Butter
Many people prefer to leave butter out for easier spreading. While it can be kept at room temperature for about two weeks, it's best to only leave a small amount out at a time. Store the rest in the fridge to maintain its quality.
Jam and marmalade
While many people don't bother storing jam and marmalade in the fridge, most product labels suggest chilling it once opened. To keep it free from mould or bad odours, store it in the fridge once opened.
Pure maple syrup
Pure maple syrup can spoil over time, so to prevent mould growth, it's best to refrigerate it after opening. Left at room temperature, it may develop mould on the surface.
Lemons, oranges and limes
Lemons, oranges and limes will keep for up to four times longer if stored in the fridge. That’s because the cooler temperature stops them drying out.
Alliance Online recommends always checking food labels for suggested storage. If your food ever looks or smells like it could be off, dispose of it. Consuming contaminated food can lead to food poisoning.
