Zac Efron and Lily Collins share warm embrace at the Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile premiere

Zac Efron and Lily Collins looked every bit the best of friends as they shared a warm embrace at the premiere of Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil.

Baywatch actor Efron grinned as he met an excited-looking Collins on the blue carpet at Mayfair’s Curzon cinemas for the Ted Bundy biopic.

Efron ditched his twisted character’s signature dark locks as he opted for a bleach blonde quiff and navy check suit.

Meanwhile Collins opted for a stunning sheer sequin gown, which featured two hands making a heart across the chest.

Her hair was pulled into a simple bun with a striking blue eyeliner look to match both her co-star’s aesthetic and the details of her floor-length dress.

The pair looked in good spirits as they posed for a slew of pictures alongside director Joe Berlinger.

Speaking at the European premiere for the film Efron told how he had to be careful playing such a violent role and focused on leaving the character on set.

He said: “You have to be careful for your own emotions, your own safety.

"This is a movie that I didn't go too method, I was able to compartmentalise myself and leave him on set, in the jail cell - most days."

Other guests that took to the carpet included Love Island star Megan Barton Hanson and singer Tallia Storm.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile focuses on the horrifying story behind one of America’s most violent killers, which saw him claim the lives of 30 women in seven states in the mid 1970s.

Collins takes on the role of Bundy’s partner of seven years Kendall in the film, with the movie being told from her perspective.

Earlier this year, the film’s director Berlinger released a documentary on Netflix based around Bundy’s unheard tapes in Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is set to release on May 3
