Yahoo News Zayn Malik's mum defends 'liking' a mean Instagram comment about Perrie Edwards
Yikes, Zayn Malik’s mum, Trisha, has found herself in hot water after liking a mean Instagram comment about Zayn’s ex-girlfriend, Perrie Edwards.
Trisha has claimed that she liked the comment by accident, insisting that she has no hard feelings towards the Little Mix superstar – but some fans remain unconvinced.
It all started when Trisha took to her popular social media page to share a photo of a gorgeous bouquet of flowers that Zayn and his current girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, had sent over.
She captioned the snap with: “From my sonshine and Gigi, love them.”
The pair had sent over the flowers as Trisha and her daughters prepared to open a new beauty salon in Zayn’s hometown of Bradford, with Gigi commenting: “Congrats on your big day, we love you and wish we could be there!!!”
Trisha promptly went on a liking spree, liking Gigi’s remark as well as one from a fan that read “ZIGIIII” and then another… From a Zayn fan who was blasting Perrie.
The comment, left by msscarlett0, was responding to anoher Instagram user and read: “Please, he broke up with her for a reason.
“Also: ‘I think I knew she don’t love me’… Says a lot. Also she basically admitted to never loving him and the way she’s been acting about him says a lot.
“And Gigi knows that Zayn needs support and praise because of his anxiety. She’s always there for him and the way she talks about him with so much love and admiration while all P could say is to call Zayn a freak.”
Needless to say, Trisha’s like sparked fury from Little Mix fans, and Trisha was forced to respond to the backlash, writing: “I honestly don’t have anything against Perrie, I never have and I never will.”
She added: “This is the reason I don’t come on social media, because everything you do always gets blown into some big drama.
“I didn’t like this comment, I must have pressed it by mistake as I was going through them, so please don’t say things about me that are not true.”
Perrie and Zayn endured a rather bitter split in August 2015, with Zayn dumping the blonde beauty after two years together – which included an engagement.
Pez went on to claim that Zayn had dumped her by text message, writing in Little Mix’s autobiography: “It was horrible, the worst time in my life. A four-year relationship, two-year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that.”
However, Zayn denied her claims, saying: “I have more respect for Perrie than to end anything over text message.”
