Zendaya, Kendall Jenner and Emma Stone show us how to shine in metallic this season

Heavy metal hues were a big hit on the autumn/winter 2017 catwalks - favoured by Christopher Kane, Dries Van Noten, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Chanel's space-inspired collection.

However, amongst the glittery dresses and high-shine tops came an unlikely hero piece - the flashy jacket.

Stars including Kendall Jenner, Emma Stone and Alexa Chung have all shown that a metallic jacket can fit any style and is the only way to wrap up this season.

Continuing the trend, 21-year-old fashion inspiration Zendaya stepped out yesterday wearing a show-stopping gold trench coat by Giuseppe Di Morabito.

The head-to-toe metallic look was perfectly timed as the 2018 Golden Globe nominations were also released yesterday - with Zendaya making fun of her outfit over on Instagram.

However, If Zendaya's glamorous getup is a bit OTT for you, then maybe you can take some inspiration from these other A-listers who also have a penchant for a shiny piece of outerwear.

Kendall Jenner - The Puffer Jacket

Kendall Jenner first stepped out wearing a gold puffer jacket way back in January - she then continued to don the dazzling garment throughout Haute Couture Fashion Week and the rest of 2017.

The model is obviously a big fan of the cosy coat as we don’t think we’ve ever seen Jenner recycle an item so much, and who can blame her? It's the perfect way to jazz up a casual day outfit.

The eye-catching puffer has also gone on to become a bit of a must-have off-duty model look as Gigi Hadid has also been seen in a similar silver number - making it an immediate street style hit.

Always ahead of the trend - Alexa Chung sported the statement item all the way back in 2014, opting for a two-tone metallic coat by Marc by Marc Jacobs at New York Fashion Week.

While many choose to go for a classic gold or silver finish, Alexa proved that experimenting with a dash of colour can also look très chic.
