Cape Town - Shumaya hitmaker Zinhle Ngidi has been found not guilty on charges of assault.
The songstress was detained at a Johannesburg police station for one night after allegedly smacking a police officer in December, 2016.
The singer was later released on a R1 000 bail after spending the night in a cell at John Voster police station.
Zinhle took to Twitter on Wednesday saying: "Justice is served, finally. Court finds me purely innocent on charges laid by unprofessional Johannesburg Metro Police officer."
Speaking to The Juice Zinhle confirmed the good news saying: "I am glad that the magistrate was fair, and was able to identify the truth. Justice was served. I am glad that the trial is finally over, as it took up a lot of my time."
"I am so grateful to my legal team for representing me," she adds.
