Zoe Ball and Fatboy Slim announce split after 18 years

TV presenter Zoe Ball and DJ Norman Cook - better known as Fatboy Slim - have said they are divorcing after 18 years of marriage.

But despite the shock announcement, the pair insisted they remain "great friends" and will continue to co-parent their two children.

They both posted a statement on their Twitter accounts saying: "With great sadness we are announcing that we have separated.

"After many exciting adventures together over the last 18 years we have come to the end of our rainbow."

The pair married in 1999 but endured a number of rocky patches during their relationship.

In 2003 they separated for a few months after Ball had an affair with DJ Dan Peppe, who was a friend of Cook's.

In December Ball, 45, was pictured kissing 22-year-old Tay Tay Starzh of boyband Franklin Lake at a nightclub.

But Ball insisted she and Cook had laughed off the incident, saying: "He has always said he wants his gravestone to read 'Norman was a very patient man'. And that sums it up really!"

The pair were both known for their hard partying ways.

Cook spoke about how the arrival of their second child felt like a gift after they both went sober.

Nelly was born in 2010, at which point the couple already had a nine-year-old son Woody.

Shortly after their daughter's birth, Cook said: "Zoe and I both gave up drinking so this baby is a present of our sobriety. It was a tough start to the year but we're both much happier. It's all settled in at the Cooks' household."

The DJ described himself and Ball as "a good tag team" in raising their children.
