Zoe Ball's replacement for BBC Radio show confirmed as insider speaks about absence
Scott Mills is set to fill in for Zoe Ball on her Radio 2 Breakfast Show for another week, as the star continues her break. Next week's schedules confirmed Scott will take over the show again, while DJ Spoony and OJ Borg will step in for him on his usual afternoon slot.
Zoe has been off air since August 8, with Scott and Gabby Roslin covering her show in her absence. The reason for her absence has not been addressed, but Scott previously told viewers when he took over the show: "If you've just tuned in this morning, it's Scott Mills in for Zoe for the next few weeks. I'm sending you all my love Zo, as are the team."
But this week, an insider said “nobody knows what has happened”. They shared: “Nobody knows what has happened but everyone loves Zoe.” They added to MailOnline: “We hope everything is okay. Zoe is so loved at the BBC so to not have her around is really noticeable.”

Before taking her break in August, Zoe enjoyed a holiday to Ibiza with her son Woody and daughter Nelly and attended Brighton Pride. She returned to work for three days before stepping away from the show again.
A spokesman for the BBC confirmed last week that Zoe would return to the show later this month, but did not give an exact date. Earlier this year, Zoe took some time away from Radio 2 following a series of personal tragedies and heartbreaks, choosing to focus on her family.
In March, Zoe announced she would be taking a break from work to care for her mother Julia Peckham, who had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Sadly, her mother passed away in April and Zoe returned to her hosting duties on May 13.
Sharing a heartfelt tribute to her mother on social media, she wrote: "Sleep tight dear Mama. Thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally, to always show courage and empathy, and how, even in the darkest of days, laughter is the greatest of gifts. We are bereft without you but will hold so tight to each other."
