A property in Midlothian is set to be featured on a new series of the classic show Escape to the Country.

Estate agents Avenue Road shared on social media that one of their properties was viewed by the house hunters and the BBC team.

Escape to the Country has been running since 2002 and helps people move out of the city and into the country where they can enjoy a more tranquil life.

Midlothian appears to be a popular choice for the show with it being only 15 miles from the city, a 35 minute car journey, or 25 minutes on the train for those needing to commute.

Back in 2022, a property in Loanhead was featured on the show where the buyer was looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh with a budget of £360k budget.

The estate agents said: "What a great hour or so filming one of our clients properties in Gorebridge for Escape to the Country. We Featured a few years ago and met Jules when we marketed a property in Loanhead.

"We are delighted another one of our properties in Gorebridge will be featured - this time we met the lovely Sonali.

"Fingers crossed Jennifer gets the call that the buyers are making an offer! Make sure you tune in to get an insight on market conditions in Edinburgh and the Lothians."

Avenue Road expects the programme to air later this year.
