'Drunk tank' bar opening on busy city centre street

A "drunk tank" venue called The Lock Up Bar is preparing to open in the city centre.

The business will move into the North John Street unit formerly occupied by the athleticwear brand Natterjack Running.

Signs have gone up above the storefront windows advertising the new arrival with a classic font against a bold, blue background.

Another sign below the store's fascia describes the venue as "one of Liverpool's original drunk tanks." The Lock Up Bar will offer guests live sports, cheap prices and daytime drink offers.

An application has been put forward to play live music throughout the week with opening times planned from 11am - 2am, Monday to Sunday.

A date for the Lock Up Bar's opening is currently undisclosed.
