Hurricane Laura Brings Strong Winds and Flooding to Lafayette

Hurricane Laura brought flooding and high winds to Lafayette, Louisiana, in the early morning of August 27, according to local media reports.

The National Hurricane Center said winds of up to 150 mph struck southern Louisiana bringing “unsurvivable storm surge, hurricane-fore winds and flash flooding” to the state.

Local media reported flooding in several parts of the city, with some residents recording footage of flooding to their properties and nearby streets.
