In celebration of the new series, Yahoo UK is taking a look back at the actors that Flanagan has worked with over the years, what they've starred in, and who has worked with him the most.

Kate Siegel | Eight appearances

There are only two actors to have worked with Flanagan on most of his projects, and Kate Siegel is one of them. The actor, who is now married to the director, first began working with him on his 2013 horror film Oculus in which she took on the role of Marisol Chavez.

Siegel has gone on to appear in many of Flanagan's projects since, including the critically-acclaimed Gerald's Game and Flanagan's Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor. She now stars in The Fall of the House of Usher as Camille L'Espanaye.

Siegel has spoken of why she enjoys working with Flanagan, and told Collider that it all began during her first audition for him: "He looked at me and he waited until I stopped nodding, and he said, ‘Can you just do one just for you?’ And I was taken aback because I didn’t know what that meant. I had forgotten.

"And something in me was brave enough to take the amount of time, which felt like an eternity, was probably two minutes, and figure out what it was that I wanted, and my acting changed forever on that day.”

Henry Thomas | Eight appearances

Henry Thomas, of E.T. fame, has breathed new life into his career by working alongside Flanagan. The actor first began working with Flanagan in his 2016 film Ouija: Origin of Evil and he has appeared in every project of the director's in film and TV ever since.

Thomas has previously said he considered leaving Hollywood entirely before he began working with Flanagan as he was struggling financially and wanted to do what was best for his family, luckily the director came to him at the right time.

In an interview with Looper, Thomas said of the filmmaker: "He is a master of suspense and the horror genre, and he knows how to kind of skew it in a way that it kind of turns it on its head a lot of times."

Katie Parker has worked with Flanagan a total of seven times, having first begun acting for him in his 2011 debut feature film Absentia.

Since then Parker has appeared in films like Doctor Sleep and Oculus, and she has also starred in all of his Netflix shows including The Fall of the House of Usher in which she plays Annabelle Lee, the first wife of main character Roderick Usher.
