Yahoo News Pete Davidson Delivers Pizza to Writers on Strike in Brooklyn
Actor and comedian Pete Davidson delivered pizza to members of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) in Brooklyn, New York, on Friday, May 5 — the fourth day of strikes following a breakdown in talks between the guild and media companies.
Footage captured by Liam Quigley shows Davidson handing out pizza from L&B Spumoni Gardens to writers picketing the television production studio Broadway Stages in Greenpoint on Friday afternoon.
When asked why he showed up, Davidson said he was showing solidarity with the striking guild members.
“You gotta support the writers, man. No shows without the writers,” he says in the footage.
According to the guild, negotiations for fair contracts failed over the last six weeks with Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Discovery, Paramount, Sony, NBC Universal, and Disney.
