Victoria Beckham has reportedly invited Mel C to perform at her and husband David’s extravagant New Year’s Eve party in the Maldives. According to reports, David and Victoria, along with their children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, will be ringing in 2017 in style, with an intimate gathering on the exotic island. As well as special guests (and BFFs) Gordon and Tana Ramsay, Mel C – who refused to reunite with Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Mel B for the Spice Girls 20th anniversary reunion – is also set to attend the star-studded soiree as she’s been hired as the entertainment for the night.

The 42-year-old pop star has turned down the chance to join forces with bandmates Emma Bunton, Mel B and Geri Horner to reform the girl group because it just wasn’t the same as when they reunited as a fivesome at the London 2012 Olympics. After This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby had begged Mel to get back together with the trio, the singer replied: “I know there are people that want to see it.
Two million quid for belting out a few hits in front of thousands of adoring fans sounds like money for old rope – but it wasn’t enough to tempt Mel C to rejoin the Spice Girls. The 42-year-old singer says playing the part of Sporty Spice made her physically sick. “When the Spice Girls were at their biggest, I couldn’t even really look at myself in the mirror because I didn’t like what I saw.
