Prue Leith’s fellow The Great British Bake Off judge has admitted he was “horrified” when she accidentally revealed who had won the show before the final aired. Paul Hollywood was shocked when his fellow judge made the gaffe by tweeting that Sophie Faldo had triumphed in the finale – nearly 12 hours before the episode aired. During an episode of The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice host Jo Brand couldn’t resist poking fun at Prue.
Yahoo Celebrity is choosing not to name the triumphant baker in question to ensure the finale is not spoiled for readers. Prue later expressed regret after her mishap, blaming the six-hour time difference in Bhutan. Following the gaffe, some Bake Off fans were up in arms at finding out who has won before the show has aired on Channel 4.

If you had visions of former Bake Off host Sue Perkins taking a long and agonising amount of time to decide to quit the show a few months back, think again. Opening up for the first time about her big decision not to end up squished between endless commercials over on Channel 4, Sue admitted that she made the decision “in a heartbeat”. 47-year-old Sue also admitted she was more than a little bit baffled about why GBBO had to move to Channel 4 in the first place.
Paul Hollywood says the Great British Bake Off will remain “exactly the same” when it eventually ends up on Channel 4. Well, we can think of one or two or maybe even THREE things that’ll be a little bit different, Paul. “The Bake Off won’t change in the sense that the format will stay exactly the same, the tent will stay the same, the challenges and really the bakers (will not change),” the 50-year old told Jonathan Ross.
