Scientists discover earliest signs of life on Earth in tiny microfossils
The “microfossils” consist of tiny filaments and tubes (above) formed by bacteria that lived at least 3,770 million years ago. The bugs, which lived on iron, are believed to have thrived in a deep sea hydrothermal vent system, a region of volcanic activity on the ocean floor. Scientists believe the mineral-rich, hot waters surrounding hydrothermal vents may have provided habitats where the Earth’s earliest life forms evolved as long as 4.3 billion years ago.

‘Life on Mars’ creator Ashley Pharaoh wants to revive the series. The man behind hit BBC drama ‘Life on Mars’ has revealed that he would love to revive the show… and during an interview with Digital Spy, said he would ‘never say never’. “It would be hard, I think, just because the end of Ashes to Ashes sort of does wrap up the whole mythology of Gene Hunt,” said Pharaoh.

SpaceX founder Elon Musk has announced plans to send a manned mission to Mars within the next decade. The business magnate told the Code Conference that while there is currently no way of getting humans back from the red planet, it isn’t too far off from becoming a reality. Musk’s grand plans are to build cities on Mars, and SpaceX will need to develop huge rockets to transport people and hardware there.
