Although there have been occasional appearances from Rainbow Bondage Bear over on his official Twitter page, we naively believed that One Direction’s unofficial mascot had hibernated for winter once their ‘On The Road Again Tour’ wrapped up last month. For those at the back, RBB’s full history can be found here, but to summarise, he is a stuffed teddy bear that has been making appearances on One Direction’s tour for over a year now. AKA, a huge majority of the fandom’s belief that Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles are embroiled in a top secret romantic relationship… A theory that the person behind the bear and his official Twitter account only intensified last night when he ‘favourited’, sorry, we mean ‘liked’, his first tweet since the account kickstarted.
If you are a long term follower of our articles, you’ll probably know that we are currently tracking the very mysterious One Direction concert mascot, Rainbow Bondage Bear, and his little pal, Sugar Baby Bear. Wearing the same Vans T-Shirt as Lou had previously worn on stage, and with the outline of his wrist tattoo seemingly visible, fans tweeted the account in their hundreds to point out the very obvious mishap - with the headline image being changed quickly after.
Forget every other mystery in the history of the world, what we are really, desperately, dying to know is what the ‘eck is going on with Rainbow Bondage Bear and Sugar Baby Bear at One Direction’s shows? Although nobody has any concrete evidence on who is dressing the bears each night, it has been widely speculated that Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson are the boys behind them - and with their drummer, Josh Devine, posing for pics with the stuffed toys backstage but denying any involvement with their placement each night, we are convinced that it is at least one member of the famous fourpiece. After the bears appeared last night, holding a pamphlet about couples’ train fares and posing next to a framed photo of a hard-to-identify drag queen, a fan took to her Twitter account to reveal that she’d asked security who was in the pic, only to be told the surprising news.
Okay, this stuff with Rainbow Bondage Bear is frazzling our minds more and more by the day, but last night really took the biscuit when another official page for the rainbow stuffed toy appeared on Twitter. For those at the back, Rainbow Bondage Bear and his small little pal, Sugar Baby Bear, appear to be the mysterious One Direction mascots who have been appearing at random shows as though they are trying to tell the fans something about what’s going on behind the scenes for over a year. In the last couple of weeks alone the toys have been positioned next to a framed photo of closeted TV personalities Larry Grayson and John Inman, as well as Liberace and Quentin Crisp.
On the first night of One Direction’s London shows for their On The Road Again tour, we almost had a heart attack when their show mascots, Rainbow Bondage Bear and his tiny bear friend, were dressed as a bride and groom next to a framed photo of closeted TV personality, Larry Grayson. Needless to say, the bears quickly disappeared, not to be seen at any of the other 1D London dates, boo, hiss etc. etc… But before we go any further, let’s recap. The bears have been making sporadic appearances at One Direction’s concerts across the globe for over a year, nobody knows for sure who dresses them or puts them out each night but with 1D’s drummer, Josh Devine, posing for pictures with them we know that it is definitely a member of the boys’ crew, if not the boys themselves.
