Here are your Cardiff City headlines for Tuesday, June 25.

Philogene to Barcelona?

Jaden Philogene has been linked with a shock transfer to Spanish giants Barcelona.

The 22-year-old winger enjoyed a stellar season on loan with Cardiff during a difficult campaign overall for the club. He ended up being crowned the club's young player of the year 12 months ago.

His fantastic performances for the Bluebirds earned him a £5m move from Aston Villa to Hull City last summer and he has gone from strength to strength on Humberside.

And now, Spanish outlet Relevo have claimed Barcelona are interested in signing the England under-21s international. They claim Barca's primary wing target is Nico Williams, who has lit up the Euros with Spain, but are exploring the option of bringing Philogene to Spain.

The report adds that Philogene fits Deco's transfer philosophy of being young with good re-sale value, so that if he doesn't make the first-team grade he could still garner cash in any potential sale.

Our colleagues at BirminghamLive claim Aston Villa still have an option to re-sign him as per the terms of his sale to Hull.

Another pre-season fixture added

Cardiff will end their pre-season fixture schedule with a game against Bristol Rovers on Saturday, August 3.

The Bluebirds will travel across the Bridge to take on the League One side at the Memorial Stadium, with the game kicking off at 3pm. It comes after the two clubs played out a behind-closed-doors friendly against each other last season at Cardiff City Stadium.

The fixture marks the end of Cardiff's pre-season preparations, which take in games against Kidderminster Harriers, KV Kortrijk, Penybont, Reading and now Rovers.

The club will also embark on a pre-season tour to Austria between July 19 and 26, with fixtures for that trip still to be announced.

Full Championship schedule announced in the morning

Mainz and Ipswich want Phillips

Liverpool have named their asking price for centre-back Nat Phillips and it will represent a major blow to Cardiff City's chances of getting him back this summer.

The Daily Mail report that Liverpool will want £8m for Phillips, who has two years left on his deal at the Merseyside club. They also claim that newly-promoted Ipswich Town and German outfit Mainz are keen on his signature.

Cardiff have only ever paid more for forward players — Bobby Decordova-Reid, Josh Murphy and Emiliano Sala — and given the tight financial constraints they have been working within in recent years, forking out that kind of cash for the centre-back looks very unlikely.

Having to battle at least two top-flight clubs — one in England and one in Germany — will also represent a major, perhaps insurmountable, obstacle for Cardiff in their pursuit of the centre-back.

Bulut held talks with Cardiff's hierarchy last week with regards to targets this summer and it is understood that he communicated that he wants two strikers, a winger, a midfielder and a central defender in this summer window.
