Marseille are the latest club to show a transfer interest in Manchester United's Mason Greenwood. The 22-year-old enjoyed an excellent season on loan at Getafe in Spain where he picked up 16 goal contributions from 36 appearances in all competitions.

With just 12 months remaining on his contract, Greenwood is expected to seal a permanent departure from Old Trafford over the coming weeks. Interest from Italy, alongside Spain and France, has thus far been strong with Juventus and Napoli among those linked.

Alongside the academy graduate, Jadon Sancho is another winger expected to be moved on, though United sources recently described Greenwood's probable departure as more "advanced" than Sancho's. With all of that being said, MEN Sport has rounded up the latest rumours surrounding Greenwood.

Marseille contact

French club Marseille want to sign Greenwood from Man United with their interest described as "serious".

United have now held discussions with the Ligue 1 outfit who recently appointed former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach. It has also been claimed Greenwood favours a move to Marseille over other interested parties with the majority of those in Italy.

Juventus and Napoli decision

While Juventus and Napoli have shown an interest in signing Greenwood, both Italian clubs appear to be looking elsewhere now.

Interestingly, Juve have switched their focus to United's Sancho while Napoli believed Greenwood's reputed £30million valuation was too high for a player they could agree a pre-contract deal for as early as January 2025.

The six teams to have shown interest

With Juventus, Napoli and Marseille all having made big decisions in the race to sign Greenwood, there are plenty of other clubs tracking his situation.

Valencia and Benfica are currently keeping tabs on the forward, though Lazio have contacted United over a possible transfer. The Rome club wanted to sign Greenwood last summer but failed to do so, however discussions are understood to be ongoing over a possible move 12 months on.
