Discount retailer Home Bargains has confirmed its store at the new Bishop Auckland retail park will open next month.

The chain will open its new store at the Fieldon Bridge Retail and Leisure Park on Saturday, June 29.

It is the latest big-name brand to open at the site, following in the footsteps and Popeyes and Greggs which opened its doors last month.

The huge 30,000sq ft unit will also include a bakery, café and a garden centre.

A Home Bargains spokesperson said: “The new store in Bishop Auckland is set to open on Saturday 29th June.

“The store will be over 30,000 square feet and as well as our usual amazing Top Brands at Bottom Prices, across both food and non-food ranges, we will also have an extensive offering of fresh, chilled and frozen products.

“We are delighted to announce that this store will also include a bakery, instore café and a large garden centre.

“We expect this store to employ around 50 new team members, recruited from the local community.”

Job adverts are currently online recruiting for store assistants and team leaders.
